Students at the University of Connecticut's Storrs Campus were forced to evacuate the Student Recreation Center.

School officials said campus police were notified Sunday afternoon that a note had been found in the rec center that indicated an explosive had been planted in the building.

The center was evacuated and searched by crew who did not find any threat, and there were no injuries associated with the incident.

Students were alerted to the threat by a text notification that came through around 3:00 p.m.

โ€œI just thought it was like a fire drill and that we would be back in within the next 10 minutes," Matthew Deangelo, freshman at the university, told News 3. "I really didnโ€™t think that much [of] it, but they did seem pretty urgent. They said, โ€˜everybody get out, everybody get out leave your stuffโ€™. I didnโ€™t know how serious it was."
