Idaho State University held an open house for the newly renovated Jared Allen Strength and Conditioning Center.
The gym received a full makeover and equipment upgrade thanks to a $500,000 donation from an anonymous donor.
Many ISU leaders were on hand for the unveiling, including athletic director Pauline Thiros; head football coach Cody Hawkins; a handful of former Bengal athletes; and Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Performance, Brandon Stephens.
Stephens says the renovations will be a game changer for the ISU student athletes. [KPVI]
Heidelberg University officially broke ground Friday, at the site of its new student athletics, academic and recreation Center, a $27.4 million donor-funded investment, the Fieldhouse.
According to President Rob Huntington, this is something the university was trying to achieve before he was hired.
“I remember 15 years ago when I arrived here and heard discussion of this project,” Huntington said. “My colleagues shared that they too had wanted something like this to happen for quite some time.”
By the Fall of 2025, the facility is expected to be open to both students and the community. [Advertiser-Tribune]
Melissa McManus – who brought Body Lab Fitness, InMotion Personal Training, and Renu Lounge to Manchester – spearheaded a recent effort with friend Jill Tully to bring a new facility to East Dorset.
Nestled within Hills Industrial Park on Tennis Way sits PLAY Multisport Turf, which opened earlier this month.
On the front of the grayish blue building, and to the left of the facility’s main entrance, two side entrance doors are placed between a pair of garage doors, ready to open when the weather turns nice.
Opening PLAY’s front door gives way to over 5,000 square feet of turf. Along the wall just to the left of the entrance stands a lacrosse rebounder, a soccer goal, netting, cones and speed ladders for speed and agility sessions, and an l-screen for pitchers to stand behind when throwing to hitters in the facility’s batting cages.
