Four members of the Abilene Christian football team's traveling party were injured Saturday in a car accident involving the team's bus following a 52-51 overtime loss again Texas Tech.
"Four individuals received minor injuries — one student-athlete, two coaches and the bus driver," the school said in a statement. "All four were transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock. We're grateful to Texas Tech director of athletics Kirby Hocutt, their team physician Dr. Michael Phy, and all of the first responders for their assistance and care."
According to Bleacher Report, the accident occurred around 11:45 p.m. CT as the team was traveling from Lubbock to Abilene.
KTAB reported that Parker Young, 19, was arrested and charged with DWI after disregarding traffic directions from officers at an intersection and colliding with the Abilene Christian team bus. The bus then crashed into another vehicle.
