A four-star high school football recruit from Alabama has turned down a $750,000 offer from an NIL collective to transfer to another high school.
Cameron Pritchett turned down the offer, which would have likely included other high-paying NIL deals, to remain at Thompson High School in Alabama, where prep athletes are allowed to take NIL money.
Pritchett, a 6-foot-3, 231-pound EDGE in the Class of 2027, declined the offer to leave the reigning Class 7A state champion Warriors. The decision was reported on social media by 5 Star Football Recruiting.
Thompson head coach Mark Freeman confirmed the accuracy of the report.
Pritchett is the second high-profile player from Thompson to turn down such an offer. Quarterback Trent Seaborn turned down a seven-figure NIL deal from a trading card company last year.
“It’s important to me that my legacy is built on integrity, hard work, passion and faith,” Pritchett said. “I want to do that at Thompson.”
