Michigan State University officially dedicated the Tom Izzo Football Building with a ceremony inside the Greg and Dawn Williams Lobby on Friday.

A 65,000-square-foot-addition and renovation to the Skandalaris Football Center and Duffy Daugherty Football Building, the $67.75 million Tom Izzo Football Building is a state-of-the-art facility that focuses on a transformative experience of player development through three primary areas:

  • Performance – with an expanded 19,000-square-foot weight room, a sports science area, and multiple nutrition stations;
  • Rest and recovery – with renovated athletic training areas and recovery modalities;
  • Enhanced social experience – with a new player locker room, lounge and Nike Gear Lab.

Middlebury College in Vermont will break ground on a new outdoor tennis facility along with enhanced throwing areas for the track and field teams this summer.

The new facility will feature three additional courts for a total of 12, as well as enhanced throwing areas for shot put, javelin, discus, and hammer throw.

The Proctor Tennis Courts are being relocated as part of Middlebury's plans to expand its outdoor tennis facilities, according to the 2008 campus master plan. The move will also make way for a new student center, which Middlebury envisions to be a vibrant, active living room for the campus.
